Hexhamshire Neighbourhood Plan
The Parish Council has started to prepare a Neighbourhood Plan. The Plan will set out planning policies for the Parish and will work alongside the Northumberland Local Plan which will be in force for the next 15 years. The process takes about two years and involves consultation with the Hexhamshire community throughout.
We have formed a steering group and will engage a planning consultant to guide us and prepare the draft and final versions of the plan. Government funding is available and we anticipate this will cover the full cost of the plan preparation.
The Plan is also a chance to focus on wider issues, for example the state of the roads, lack of public transport and ideas for new community activities, to name but a few. As a first step we need to know what issues are of concern, so we’re carrying out a survey of local residents to find out.
We would have preferred to hold a public meeting to launch the process, however this is not possible at the moment so the survey is online and can be found on Facebook and here on the parish website.
The link to the survey is https://s.surveyplanet.com/VUGgg6hEQ
If you would prefer a paper copy, or if you have any problems completing the survey, please contact one of the steering group.
We would like to have completed surveys by 15th December. We would urge everyone to contribute as this is a golden opportunity to influence planning and other issues in our parish for years to come. If you have any queries please don’t hesitate to contact one of the steering group.
