Football Club

Hexhamshire Football Club was originally formed in 1947.  After many successes in different leagues and cups on both Saturdays and Sundays, the club eventually folded in 2004.

In 2014 the club was reformed by Lewis Short and includes players from the Shire, Slaley, Blanchland and Hexham.  New goals were bought and a new changing room container was placed on the sports field ready for the start of the Hexhamshire and District Sunday League in 2015.

Hexhamshire play their home games at Whitley Chapel.  On match days food is provided in the Parish Hall after the match for the teams, and refreshments are also provided for the spectators.

During the summer the team train on Thursday evenings on the sports field
